The children of Playtrails celebrated the Festival of Lights on 30th October,26 with great enthusiasm and festive cheer. Dressed in beautiful traditional attire, they added a vibrant touch to the celebrations. The festivities commenced with a special assembly, where children learnt about the significance of Diwali and explored the various traditions associated with the festival, including lighting diyas, decorating homes and creating colourful rangolis.
An important aspect of the assembly was sensitising children to the importance of celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali. They learnt how bursting firecrackers contributes to air and noise pollution and how loud sounds can frighten animals. Through these meaningful discussions, children were encouraged to be compassionate towards animals and become responsible stewards of the environment.
The celebration continued on a joyful note as children sang and danced to cheerful Diwali melodies, filling the atmosphere with festive spirit. Adding a creative touch to the festivities, the children also decorated beautiful diyas as a special take-home activity, expressing their imagination and creativity through their artwork. It was a heartwarming celebration that beautifully blended cultural learning, environmental awareness, creativity and togetherness, reminding our little ones that the true essence of Diwali lies not just in illuminating our homes but also in spreading happiness, kindness, compassion and love.
