“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” The month of August was filled with colourful and meaningful art experiences that encouraged children to express themselves creatively while developing their fine-motor skills. Through the “I Am Special” activity, children coloured a worksheet celebrating their special qualities while reinforcing the ideas of self-worth and body safety.
For Independence Day, children created vibrant tricoloured butterfly artworks using the paper tearing and sticking technique. This activity encouraged creativity while strengthening hand-eye coordination and finger control.
As part of the Birds theme, children explored different birds such as parrots, peacocks and owls through colouring and pasting paper cut out activities. They enjoyed creating colourful bird artworks while learning to observe and appreciate the beauty of nature.
During the Raksha Bandhan celebration, children made colourful rakhis by sticking small flower cut-outs onto a string. The activity helped develop their pincer grip, concentration and creativity while introducing them to the joy of celebrating special occasions together.
Through these experiences, children had opportunities to create and explore while building confidence through joyful artistic expression.
