The Playschool orientation was held on 24th February 2020. It started with the recitation of ‘Gayatri Mantra” by students of std.6. Pre-Primary subject head, Ms Sangeeta Jhangiani welcomed the parents and introduced the members of the management committee, Dr M K Sabharwal, President of Arya Vidya Mandir society, Mr Ashok Malhotra, General secretary of Arya Vidya Mandir society, Ms Jyoti Kumar, Director of Education of AVM Institutions and Mrs Shobha Iyer, Principal VCW AVM bandra East.The parents were addressed by Dr. M K Sabharwal who shared some anecdotes from his rich experience emphasising on the importance of spending quality time with the children. He talked about the school vision and how we all work keeping that vision in mind. Mr Ashok Malhotra also addressed the parents and assured them of many more positive developments coming up in our school which the incoming batch of students are going to witness and benefit from. Ms Jyoti Kumar then addressed the parents and explained them the meaning of ‘Namaste”. She explained to them that values are the only constant in today’s ever-changing world and how we at AVM instil those values in our students right from Pre-Primary level. Ms Shobha Iyer welcomed the parents and shared an inspiring short story and assured them that by choosing AVM they have shown a leap of faith in us. The parents were taken through a short PowerPoint presentation by Pre-Primary teachers, Ms Rachna Kakkar and Ms Lakshmi Choithramani, giving them a glimpse of holistic approach of education followed by AVM group of schools, dharamshiksha, Annual events and other activities, Inter-house and Intra AVM events, SSR, AYM facility, School website, school app, ECE course and course in special education, PTA and so on. The parents were shown a video giving them a glimpse of children in the Pre-Primary level. Ms Sangeeta Jhangiani made a few important announcements regarding the handbook, importance of escort cards, bus service providers, uniform and stationery requirements.She also invited the parents for the Havan to be held on 1st April 2020. The programme ended with the recitation of Shanti Path.
