As part of the Mathways Initiative, Junior Trail learners explored one-to-one correspondence through engaging, hands-on activities using manipulatives. Children matched quantities to numerals by collecting eggs and placing the correct number of eggs corresponding to the number in the hen’s basket. Through these playful experiences, they strengthened their counting skills, number recognition, quantity understanding and mathematical thinking while learning that each number represents a specific quantity.
